Hey, I’m Dan Redican — a tattoo artist based in Glasgow, originally from Paisley. If you want the long version of my story? Keep on reading!



I’ve been tattooing professionally since 2009, though I found my way into the industry a bit by accident. I started out piercing at 17, but it never quite clicked — what did stick was the community I found in the tattoo industry. I taught myself how to tattoo (a hard road I wouldn’t necessarily recommend!), and over time, I managed to build the respect and experience which underpin my career.



I specialise in bold traditional, Japanese, and blackwork tattooing, but thanks to my early years in street shops, I’ve learned to handle just about any style that walks through the door. Those experiences still shape the way I work today.



Much of my inspiration comes from my love of both Japanese and pop culture — these inform and inspire my work. I’ve spent a lot of time working in Japan which holds a special place in my heart; the depth of art and culture really inspires me."

2009年からプロのタトゥーアーティストとして活動していますが、この業界に入ったのはちょっとした偶然でした。17歳でピアスを始めたのですが、なかなかピンとこなくて。でも、タトゥー業界で出会ったコミュニティのおかげで、ずっと心に残ることができました。独学でタトゥーを学びました（決してお勧めできるほど大変な道のりではありませんでしたが！）。そして、時間をかけて、私のキャリアの基盤となる尊敬と経験を積み重ねてきました。

 

私は大胆なトラディショナルタトゥー、ジャパニーズタトゥー、ブラックワークタトゥーを専門としていますが、若い頃に路面店で働いていたおかげで、どんなスタイルのタトゥーにも対応できるようになりました。これらの経験は、今でも私の仕事のスタイルに影響を与えています。

 

私のインスピレーションの多くは、日本とポップカルチャーへの愛から来ています。それらが私の作品に影響を与え、インスピレーションを与えています。私は日本で長い時間を過ごしてきましたが、日本は私にとって特別な場所であり、芸術と文化の奥深さには本当にインスピレーションを受けています。
